The Help and Support Team has lately received some complaints about a certain bug/error know as "Unknown HLTV type". As told by our members, this bug happens when joining to a channel gameserver, protected with password. I want to inform you that, this bug is not related with any update of our systems, channel gameservers or with Gather-Network itself, which leads to be a problem with steam/valve services.
If this bug happens to you, please do not attempt to play any gather before you fix the problem or may have a chance to get yourself banned on the network. You should contact Valve instead, at their forums (http://store.steampowered.com/forums/) by stating the problem.
Apparently there's some channel managers with a terribly wrong understanding of how no demo bans work. These bans can ONLY be issued by AC Team members and can ONLY be removed by AC Team members as well. Any channel manager found removing these ban points will have their access reset to 1 to prevent further abuse of their access until the channel leader handles the situation. If these kind of actions become reiterative, channel managers will end up getting banned if helpstaff members deem it necessary.
Please understand that these bans are given for a reason and it's AC Team members the ones who know when to remove then.
As we near Christmas, many of you are probably thinking; "where is the anti-cheat?". The answer is it's coming soon, so be prepared. Not only will there be a totally new Anti-Cheat, but there will be many, many new features to the Gather-Network. You may be wondering why there was no Summer Cup? You will soon find out for yourself - and it's going to be big!
Keep your eyes open for updates, there's going to be some huge changes to the Gather-Network and how it operates. We hope you look forward to it as much as we are!
